That’s some high praise. One of the main events of last night’s show, and arguably the top match on the show, saw Universal Champion Brock Lesnar face WWE Champion AJ Styles in a non-title champion vs. champion match. These two beat the heck out of each other with Lesnar coming out on top. However, Styles got a bit of a parting gift.

WWE has released a video of Lesnar’s advocate Paul Heyman talking about Styles after the match. Heyman offers nothing but praise for Styles, who he calls the best in-ring performer he’s ever seen. He goes on to compare Styles to names like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, saying how glad he was that Lesnar got to face someone of Styles’ caliber. Here’s the video:

Opinion: I’ve always liked Heyman’s promo style. While most people would downplay their opponents so strongly, Heyman opts to put them over instead. That actually makes sense because what does it mean to have Lesnar beat someone who doesn’t matter? By putting them over, Heyman makes the win mean something instead. That’s smart thinking and something not a lot of people do.
