Last night on “Raw,” Roman Reigns became a “Grand Slam” winner, defeating The Miz to capture the Intercontinental Championship for the first time.

According to a report from PWInsider, the reason for the title change is because “The A-Lister” will be taking some time off to film a new movie.

From the article:

One source believed Miz would be going to film the latest installment of WWE Studios’ The Marine movie franchise.  There have been five films thus far in The Marine franchise, with The Miz starring in the last three.  We are told that there is no current timetable for [his] return and last night was his final appearance until filming is completed.

As a part of his sendoff, The Shield triple-powerbombed “The A-Lister” through a table after “Raw” went off the air. You can see a clip of it below:

Editor’s Opinion:

While his presence will be greatly missed on “Raw,” I hope that this leads to bigger and better things for The Miz. My initial thought was that when he returned, he would immediately begin to challenge for the Universal Championship, as I feel that he could easily be the face of the red brand.
