According to a report by both ESPN and WWE, the company has signed former Major League Baseball pitcher Rinku Singh to a developmental contract. He is most known for being the winner of India’s 2008 reality TV series, “The Million Dollar Arm.”
After spending the better part of eight years as a part of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ organization, injuries ultimately put an end to his dreams of playing baseball. However, after participating in a WWE tryout in Dubai in April 2017, Singh started down a path that ultimately led him to the WWE.

From the reports:
“I would have never dreamed, growing up as a skinny kid from a small village in India, that after many turns and crossroads, I’ve been given this fantastic opportunity in the WWE,” said Singh. “The tryout was way different than what I had been through in baseball, or even back when I was training in track and field for the Olympics.”
“As long I stay focused and stay strong, just as I have over the past 10 years with baseball or track and field … it will lead me in the right direction,” he said. “Obviously, it’s going to be a totally different training program [at the WWE Performance Center]. But it does not matter where you came from. You’re trying to be something bigger than yourself, and you’ve got to give it everything you’ve got.”
