The most dedicated wrestling fans are always looking to get an inside perspective into the business, and WWE has posted a new video that gives them just that.
This bout was a culmination of an eight-month feud between Jericho and Michaels, and Y2J uses the match to teach the contestants about the psychology between competitors in the ring. Various topics were covered and discussed, such as the purpose of the ladder, why characters wear certain additional items like bandages as a part of their attire, what makes a performer stand out to the crowd, pacing of a match, and more.
“Tough Enough” has come under much scrutiny this season, and has received criticism from current and former superstars, such as Corey Graves, Seth Rollins and Mick Foley. It had also been previously reported that WWE officials wanted ZZ to be eliminated from the show, yet he continues to receive support from the WWE Universe.
Jericho also discusses how he lost a few of his teeth in the match with Michaels, and there is also a humorous spot where Tanner bumps the Playstation controller, losing their place during the replay of the match.
Editor’s Note:
I think that this kind of content is a great idea, and I wish they would show it on the main show. People watch “Tough Enough” to get an inside look at the process of becoming a WWE superstar, and showing them what it really takes might give them more of an appreciation for what the performers do every single night. Just from that clip alone, I learned about little hidden things that wrestlers do that I had never noticed before. More of this is good, WWE. Keep doing it.
