Below are some highlights from the interview:
On arriving in WWE:
“It’s surreal,” Cesaro said Tuesday in a telephone interview. “I told a few friends this time I was called up to the main roster. I was a WWE Superstar. The first time I signed, it fell through and I felt like an idiot. I love being part of the WWE.”
On NXT:
“There’s a good pool of talent there,” Cesaro said. “The wrestlers are making waves. It’s a hot show right now. People want to see these shows (live).”
On the Intercontinental Championship:
“It’s sweet when it happens,” Cesaro, 6-foot-5, 232 pounds, said of having belts around his waist. “It’s bitter when you lose. My goal right now is the Intercontinental. Miz has it. I want it back. I’ll be a fighting champion.”
On his injury that sidelined him:
“You always want to be back as soon as possible,” Cesaro said. “I did all I could, but it wasn’t feasible. It was an amazing show. I sat in the skybox depressed.”
“I wanted to be 100 percent,” Cesaro said. “The fan support was great. They help you through so much with their support.”
