Sasha Banks Discusses Her Absence from WWE, Brand Extension, Bayley

WWE Superstar Sasha Banks was the Michael Cole’s guest this week on his weekly interview on WWE.com. In the interview, they discuss a number of topics, including her absence from WWE, the cover shoot for Muscle & Fitness Hers magazine, the upcoming brand extension, Eddie Guerrero, her match with Bayley at “NXT Takeover: Brooklyn,” and more.

Below are the highlights from the interview:

Cole begins by asking Banks where she’s been recently. Banks says to not worry about where she’s been, just know that she strikes while the iron is hot. She is coming for the WWE Women’s Championship.

They then discuss Banks’ cover shoot and article in Muscle & Fitness Hers magazine. She says that it was a great experience, and it was awesome.

Cole then asks about the brand extension, and what show she would like to end up on. Banks says that she would prefer to end up on “Smackdown,” because of her admiration for the late Eddie Guerrero. “The Boss” says that Guerrero was her inspiration, and if it wasn’t for him, that they wouldn’t be talking in the current interview. They go on to talk about her performing the Frog Splash during her match at WrestleMania.

Finally, they discuss Banks’ match with Bayley at “NXT Takeover: Brooklyn” last year. She says that everyone was on their feet for that match, and that before then, the divas were looked at as the “popcorn match.” She says that people are buying tickets to see the women now, and that they are equal to the men. She’s not here to be a diva. She’s here to be a women’s wrestler, and to be the best.
