The Tampa Tribune recently published an interview with Big E, in order to promote last evening’s “Monday Night Raw” event. A Tampa Native, Big E discussed a number of topics including his childhood and how he ended up in WWE, the formation of The New Day, and more.
On The Foundation of The New Day:
“The foundation was three individuals who believed in the power of positivity. Now it has expanded to some sort of traveling musical group that gyrates a lot. It has taken many weird turns. We just enjoy having fun together.”
On His Childhood:
“I was quiet as a kid. I was definitely an introvert through middle and high school. It took me a while to get out of my bubble.”
On How The New Day Was Formed:
“We were in lulls. We were stale. So we got together behind the scenes and came up with ideas for what we could do as a team. We’d pitch our ideas backstage until we were finally able to come out together.”
On The Preacher Voice:
“I used to go to church for about six hours on Sunday. That was what I spent my youth around.”
