In his weekly interview on WWE.com, Michael Cole sits down with WWE Superstar, Seth Rollins.

Cole begins by noting that Rollins was selected #1 overall in the recent WWE draft. Rollins says that he’s honored to be the first pick, but that there really wasn’t any other option. He says that everyone will point their fingers towards his relationship with Stephanie McMahon, but he says that she just knows what’s best for business. He’s proud to be part of the “Raw” brand.

They then discuss Rollins getting a bye into the WWE Universal Title match at “SummerSlam” because of this relationship. He says there was no favoritism involved in him getting the shot, due to his accomplishments and accolades in WWE. Rollins says he did what he had to do, earned his spot in the match, and that’s all there is to it.

Finn Balor is then brought up, and Cole talks about how he won two matches on “Raw” to earn the right to face Rollins. He goes on to say that many fans are calling this a dream match. Rollins believes it is and that although their careers are similar, but says they came from two different places to get where they are. He says the match has all the makings of a dream match, due to the new title, and the atmosphere of “SummerSlam,” He’s really looking forward to beating Balor.

Rollins goes on to say that he would be stupid not to respect Balor. He notes that Balor is a talented performer, but that respect only gets you so far. Rollins continues by saying that he is the best, as far as he’s concerned, and that he got into this industry to be the greatest of all time. He’s looking at Balor and “SummerSlam” as just another stepping stone in his hall of fame career.

Cole then asks Rollins if it matters to him whether or not Balor, or The Demon, shows up at “SummerSlam.” Rollins says he doesn’t think so, because he’s never been in the ring with Balor, or his alter-ego, so it’s hard for him to tell what the difference is. He’s watched and studied both Balor and The Demon, but he just thinks he’s better than Balor. Rollins has done all of the things Balor has done in WWE, but he did them first, and did them better. He says Balor or The Demon can’t measure up to the man.

To conclude the interview, Rollins says that Balor will bring everything he’s got, but it doesn’t matter because it won’t be enough. At the end of “SummerSlam,” he says that he will be the first-ever WWE Universal Champion.
