With Brock Lesnar and Goldberg showing for the lead-up to Royal Rumble, and the fact that the Monday Night Raw just before a Pay-Per-View typically receiving a boost in ratings, it was expected that this week’s episode would follow suit.

And as expected, they did indeed go up. After last week’s ratings drew in 3.27 million viewers–an increase owing to the lack of Monday Night Football to compete with–this week’s episode went up to an average of 3.29 million viewers. This is only a 20,000 change in viewership, but every little bit helps.

At its peak in hour two, the program pulled in 3.46 million viewers, but then dropped off to 3.11 viewers in the final hour.

With WWE in the peak of Pay-Per-View season, leading up to its culmination with Wrestlemania 33, you can certainly expect ratings boosts within the coming weeks.

Smackdown, however, is still struggling to keep up with Raw, and with the big announcements and matches happening primarily on Raw, this could be a difficult feat for the Smackdown roster to accomplish.
