With Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks now on WWE’s main roster, the NXT women’s division could use some fresh faces to go head-to-head with new NXT Women’s Champion Bayley.
A recent report from Japanese reporter Enuhito notes that World Wrestling Entertainment and Kana may have come to terms on a contract a while ago.
Via Uproxx.com:
I am told that KANNA signed with WWE a few weeks ago. (I can’t say who he told me.) But I am not told that she appears on the show tonight.
KANNA did not take WWE Tryout at Ryogoku Sumo Hall last month. She was checked beforehand.
I am sure WWE will soon officially announce this contract. Good luck, KANNA!
PWInsider.com now adds that there’s a rumor a deal has been struck between the two parties, but they can’t confirm it at this time.
Kana, 33, had previously been competing for Reina Joshi Puroresu, winning the Reina World Women’s Championship and Reina World Tag Team Championship for the promotion. She’s also wrestled in the United States for SHIMMER and Chikara Pro.
Editor’s Note
If you’ve never seen Kana perform, I suggest searching her name on YouTube and finding out for yourself just how amazing this woman is between the ropes.
