As previously reported here at the site, WWE’s “Tough Enough” reality show will be making a return to the USA Network and not on the WWE Network.
The premise of the show is to offer hopefuls a chance at being signed by World Wrestling Entertainment. Prior participants include The Miz, Cameron, Maven and John Morrison.
The new season will reportedly include NXT talent who haven’t appeared on television yet, according to Reddit user and WWE insider MetsFan4Ever.
WWE officials were looking at talent who recently participated in a camp at the WWE Performance Center to possibly be a part of the show. There were also officials from the USA Network present as well.
The report notes that WWE NXT has the right to offer anyone from the camp a contract first. If the deal is refused, the USA Network could then offer them a spot on “Tough Enough.”
Tessa Blanchard, the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard, was supposedly offered a spot on “Tough Enough.” It’s now a waiting game to see if WWE will step in and offer her a developmental deal.
Editor’s Note
This process kills a lot of the legwork in terms of finding novice talent. Like last season, a majority of the cast will have some semblance of experience between the ropes. Smart.
