During the Jan. 5 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” Bray Wyatt defeated Dean Ambrose in the first-ever Ambulance match in the history of the program.
This was Wyatt’s fourth victory in a row over Ambrose on both television and pay-per-view, dating back to “Survivor Series” when he picked up a DQ win.
WWE reportedly wants Wyatt to look as strong as possible for a potential bout with Undertaker at WrestleMania 31.
According to The Wrestling Observer, several people backstage took Wyatt’s Ambulance match win as a sign that Undertaker may indeed be ready to compete.
Others in the company believe this all may lead to Ambrose turning heel, although the far more likely scenario is it strengthens Wyatt heading into the big event in Santa Clara.
Undertaker has not been seen on WWE television since losing to Brock Lesnar in New Orleans at WrestleMania 30. It’s not known at this time how WWE will go about creating a Wyatt vs. Undertaker storyline if it does come to fruition.
Editor’s Note
I’ll always stand behind my belief that Wyatt should have been the one to end “The Streak.” Ah well. Here’s hoping we do get this matchup at WrestleMania 31, perhaps leading to Undertaker vs. Sting at WrestleMania 32.
