A recent interview with WWE Superstar Roman Reigns has sparked rumors of The Rock possibly making an appearance at this year’s “SummerSlam” pay-per-view on Aug. 23 at the Barclays Center.
PWInsider.com now reports that there have been no backstage talks of having Rock come to Brooklyn and appear live at “The Biggest Event of the Summer.” However, if that is indeed the case, the only people in the company who would be in the know in that regard are COO Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and Chairman Vince McMahon.
It was at a WWE Live Event in Boston where fans last witnessed Dwayne Johnson standing in the middle of the squared circle, laying out Bo Dallas with a Rock Bottom. Prior to that, “The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment” was at WrestleMania 31 at Levi’s Stadium, working an in-ring segment with Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and current UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey.
Reigns is scheduled to team with Dean Ambrose in a tag bout against Luke Harper and Bray Wyatt at “SummerSlam.”
Editor’s Note
While “SummerSlam” doesn’t necessarily need an appearance by “The Great One” to be a fantastic show, with four hours to fill, it certainly wouldn’t hurt to have him there.
