As one of several moments which shocked the WWE Universe this past Monday night on “Raw,” the 16-time World Champion Ric Flair made a surprise appearance during the show, interacting with John Cena and Jon Stewart.
Following an attack on Cena at “SummerSlam” Sunday night which cost him his chance at becoming World Heavyweight Champion, Stewart appeared in the squared circle Monday to explain his actions, justifying his ambush by saying he didn’t want the leader of the CeNation to tie Flair’s title record.
Flair then emerged to let Stewart know that he was actually rooting for Cena at the pay-per-view. “Sooner or later, the record will be broken, and I prefer it be by someone that I respect,” he said.
This won’t be the only time we see “The Nature Boy” for the next little while, as PWInsider.com reports. Flair won’t be used on “Raw” next week, but WWE will reportedly use him on television once again before the end of September.
Editor’s Note
The Champ……Is……..Flair!! Awesome segment. Everything Flair touches is gold, so I’m all for seeing more of him in another month or so. As long as it’s not to “crown” Cena for tying or breaking his record, though. My heart can’t handle that.
