During the Aug. 24 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” former NXT trainee Braun Stowman made his main roster debut, aligning himself with Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper of The Wyatt Family to battle against Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.
At one point, Strowman was set to team with Wyatt and Harper in a six-man tag team match at the pay-per-view against the former Shield members, although it’s unclear as to who would have teamed with Reigns and Ambrose had that happened.
There were rumors prior to “SummerSlam” of Sting possibly entering the fray to complete the equation, although that blueprint was eventually scrapped. “The Vigilante” also showed up on “Raw,” attacking Unified WWE World Heavyweight and United States Champion Seth Rollins.
Had Erick Rowan been healthy, odds are he would have joined his fellow Wyatt Family members, but he remains on the shelf with a torn biceps injury.
Editor’s Note
Regardless of when it happened, the inclusion of Strowman into the Wyatt Family vs. Ambrose/Reigns feud is sorely needed. The dude is an absolute beast, and should make for some interesting in-ring interactions with someone like Reigns, who he overpowers in both stature and strength.
