With the addition of international stars KENTA, Fergal Devitt and Kevin Steen, the NXT roster has become a gold mine for WWE in terms of overall talent.
In addition to Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville and Tyler Breeze, the question now is which superstars will make their way up to the main roster first.
According to a report by The Wrestling Observer, Hideo Itami (KENTA) and Finn Balor (Fergal Devitt) will more than likely be called up before anyone else.
Despite his years of experience, Itami insisted on a stint in developmental so that he could adapt to WWE’s style and learn english in the process.
The report notes that Itami’s starpower in Japan is one of the main reasons why WWE will want him on their television sooner rather than later.
Dave Meltzer was quoted as saying “Finn [Balor] wasn’t brought in to spend two or three years in developmental.” The only reason he’s down in NXT is because “that’s how WWE develops talent.”
Balor made his NXT debut at the Sept. 25 taping as [SPOILER] a mystery partner for Itami during his match against The Ascension.
The segment will air on Nov. 6 on the WWE Network.
Editor’s Note
Smart move by WWE. Itami and Balor don’t need years of seasoning down in developmental. I’d still love to see the two team up with Kevin Steen (whenever he’s ready) and form a faction at some point.
