On the Sept. 26 edition of “Friday Night SmackDown,” Dean Ambrose left the show in possession of the Money in the Bank briefcase after Seth Rollins and Kane tried to ambush “The Lunatic Fringe.”

Ambrose was then seen over the weekend carrying the briefcase through airports, something all MITB briefcase winners have done in the past.

There is now speculation over the briefcase becoming more of an integral part of the Ambrose vs. Rollins storyline. It could even be held up as a prize via a series of matches at the upcoming WWE “Hell in a Cell” pay-per-view.

One plan for the show would be for Ambrose to battle John Cena in the opening bout with the winner taking on Rollins in a Hell in a Cell match in the main event. The loser would then take on Randy Orton.

If that were to come into fruition, the MITB briefcase could be up for grabs in the final encounter of the night to determine the true “Mr. Money in the Bank.”

WWE “Hell in a Cell” takes place live from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on Oct. 26.

Editor’s Note

Not bad. Putting the MITB briefcase on the line would be more of a sell for fans to get invested in the pay-per-view. I’m not sure a revenge plot against Rollins would be enough. This would also be a perfect way to put the briefcase permanently on Ambrose should WWE decide to go in a different direction.
