As previously reported here at WrestlingRumors.net, PWInsider had received word that World Wrestling Entertainment was set to begin a licensing deal with clothing apparel line Tapout at some point in the near future.

A representative from WWE issued the followings statement on the matter:

WWE is exploring several partnership opportunities, however we have nothing official to announce at this time.”

Tapout has a firm grip on the MMA market, focusing on creating training gear, clothing, accessories and a lot more.

Sports blog TerezOwens.com notes that a potential deal would allow Tapout to sponsor WWE and its superstars, similar to a deal they have with Reebok.

Tapout co-founder Skrape took to Twitter to let the public know that while there could be some sort of business relationship formed down the road, there’s nothing to officially announce at the moment.

Editor’s Note

I’ve never owned any clothing from the Tapout brand, mainly because I’m not much of an MMA guy. I could see WWE aligning with them at some point, though. It looks like that will be the case, regardless of these statements.
