He will be making first appearance at the Rey de Reyes event on March 15 in Guadalajara, Mexico. His opponent for the show has yet to be named.
In a WWE reunion of sorts, Mysterio will team with Alberto El Patron and Myzteziz (the original Sin Cara) at a special World Cup show on May 23.
Mysterio and World Wrestling Entertainment ended their working relationship on Feb. 26 after a lengthy contract dispute.
F4WOnline first reported that the former World Heavyweight Champion was demanding upwards of $20,000 to work independent shows in his post-WWE career.
Editor’s Note
Solid get for AAA as this is exactly where Rey Mysterio wants to be. This could also lead to a future appearance with Lucha Underground as well.
