As previously reported here at WrestlingRumors.net, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is adamant over Rey Mysterio making a return to the ring.

The two met for a meeting in Buffalo on Nov. 3, although details of what the two discussed were unknown at the time.

McMahon is aware that WWE is lacking in top hispanic talent to push in the company. This is forcing him to succumb to some of Rey’s requests, whatever they may be.

According to F4WOnline.com, Rey will not be joining AAA’s Lucha Underground. He will instead re-sign with World Wrestling Entertainment when his current deal expires in May 2015.

Rey will also begin doing more work outside of the ring, as well.

The report notes that while McMahon and Rey haven’t always seen eye-to-eye, the fact that he’s been with WWE as long as he has helps his cause. He also has a lot of friends who would go to bat for him if need be.

While McMahon would like Rey to work a full-time schedule, there’s no word at this time as to whether that will be the case upon his inevitable return.

Editor’s Note

If WWE wants to start pushing more hispanic talent, perhaps they should look down in developmental and give Sin Cara and Kalisto a look. Rey’s health and absence from television are both marks against him. I’m not sure how much he has left in the tank at this stage of his career.
