“The Viper” Randy Orton may be sticking around for a while, contrary to previous reports.
PWInsider.com originally reported that Orton may have been written off of WWE programming this past Monday night on “Raw” following his victory over Sheamus.
After defeating “The Celtic Warrior” with an RKO, all three members of The Wyatt Family emerged to beat the 12-time World Champion down. This was supposedly designed to get Orton off television for the foreseeable future, as WWE officials had no immediate plans for him at the upcoming “Night of Champions” pay-per-view on Sept. 20 in Houston.
Orton is scheduled to work WWE Live Events over the weekend, and may even appear in Memphis for “Raw” next week.
He’s not expected, though, to be the mystery third man joining Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose against Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, and Braun Strowman at “Night of Champions.”
Editor’s Note
This is good news. There’s no reason for Orton not to have a role at a B-level pay-per-view like “Night of Champions.” WWE officials will figure something out – as long as it’s in another storyline all together.
