Former TNA World Champion Bully Ray’s status with the company has been clouded in mystery since his contract expired.

According to PWInsider.com, TNA wants to bring him back for the upcoming television tapings so he may continue his three match series with Team 3D against The Wolves and The Hardys for the Tag Team Championship.

The report notes that TNA is close to signing Bully Ray to a two-date deal to finish out his tenure with the company.

The first date will allow him to finish out the series, with the second being at TNA “Bound for Glory” on October 12 when Team 3D is inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Bully Ray will appear at TNA “No Surrender” on Sept. 17 when the Tag Team Championship series continues in a Ladder match.

There is no word yet if WWE has any interest in bringing Bully Ray back once he’s free to find work elsewhere.

Editor’s Note

The Tag Team Championship series is arguably the best thing going in TNA today. Having Bully Ray finish off these stellar series of matches and then get inducted into the Hall of Fame is a fitting way to close the TNA chapter of his career.
