At WWE “Night of Champions” on Sept. 20 in Houston, “The Vigilante” Sting – despite a 0-1 record with the company – will challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship in the night’s main event.
Also confirmed for the card is a six-man tag team match between Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, and Braun Strowman against Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and a partner of their choosing. Who was that mystery man supposed to be at first?
Sting, of course.
The decision was later made to have Sting face off with Rollins, although it’s unknown at this time as to who will be joining Ambrose and Reigns, per F4WOnline.com.
WWE.com may have spoiled their identity, as a picture is currently circulating of NXT’s Baron Corbin being put in the match image on the site.
Sting is expected to be appear on the Sept. 7 edition of “Monday Night Raw” in some capacity.
Editor’s Note
People are going to continue making a fuss over Sting getting a title shot before every actually winning a match with World Wrestling Entertainment. Big whoop. It’s Sting. It makes sense on name recognition alone.
