Dean Ambrose fell just a little bit short in his attempt to bring down the MITB briefcase at “WWE Money in the Bank” on Sunday night, but in the process, he gained even more respect from one of his biggest supporters.

WWE Hall of Famer and “Hardcore Legend” Mick Foley took to his Facebook account early on Monday to praise Ambrose and the reaction he got from the fans in Boston:

Following the tumultuous reaction he received last night, it’s clear that Dean Ambrose has made a very real connection with the WWE universe. In wrestling, momentum is so vital – I hope WWE does something special with Ambrose.

Plans were in motion for Foley and Ambrose to have a feud/storyline in WWE at one point until doctors insisted that Foley never compete in a wrestling ring again.

Rollins ended up winning the MITB briefcase with a little outside interference from Kane.

Ambrose was taken to the back about midway through the match with an apparent shoulder injury after landing awkwardly from a DDT off the ladder to Jack Swagger. The injury was nothing more than a work as Ambrose returned for the finish.

Editor’s Note

Seth Rollins wins the briefcase, but Ambrose was the one who stole the show. Foley hit the nail on the head when talking about Ambrose and his connection to the audience. It’s real and getting stronger by the week.
