The NXT Women’s Division has consistently been one of the more enjoyable and entertaining parts of the brand, with Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Becky Lynch being the driving forces behind it.
All four ladies are certainly capable of being a part of WWE’s main roster, although WWE officials have yet to pull the trigger on a debut.
WWE Hall of Famer and “Hardcore Legend” Mick Foley recently made an appearance on former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen’s podcast. He discussed during the interview how he’d like the four NXT standouts to come up (with h/t to Wrestlezone.com):
“Sasha Banks, Ric Flair’s daughter Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Bayley in NXT could come over as a fore-some. I’m afraid if they come over one at a time they’ll get absorbed into the system instead of changing it. If they come over as a fore-some and they do the right thing – and I can’t stress how important this is to me. If I was a politician this would be my one issue I would talk constantly about.”
At least two of the four could be appearing on WWE programming as soon as “SummerSlam,” with PWInsider.com reporting that Charlotte and Banks will be teaming with Paige against Nikki Bella, Brie Bella and Alicia Fox at the pay-per-view.
Editor’s Note
A Four Horsewomen-esque angle in WWE is sorely needed. Foley is right on the money, because if done right, those four ladies could change the face of women’s wrestling and put more of a spotlight on a division that hasn’t been overly relevant in the eyes of the company since the days of Lita and Trish Stratus.
