In a recent interview with Squared Circle Wrestling, form WWE and WCW Champion Kevin Nash discussed a number of wrestling-related topics, including CM Punk and his departure from the company.
Nash mentioned how he had a conversation with Punk during the “WWE Royal Rumble” pay-per-view in January. Punk was upset over the “powers that be” organizing the Royal Rumble match and not leaving that in the hands of the superstars.
He also brought up how Punk was constantly putting on a heating pack to nurse his sore back. The two shared a floor together during a road trip to London. Nash would wake up paralyzed while Punk would immediately get up and go right for his pack.
Nash said how Punk wasn’t a small guy, but he wasn’t a big guy either, leaving him more prone to injury. Punk told Nash at the Rumble event that he hadn’t gotten an MRI yet, but “Big Sexy” believes he’s had one since.
WWE Hall of Famer Chief Jay Strongbow once told Nash to get a house and pay for it in cash so that when his wrestling career is over, he has somewhere to call “home.” Nash understands how Punk isn’t an over-the-top spender and “doesn’t need 15 cars” to be happy. He missed out on a big payday by not working WrestleMania XXX, but Nash believes Punk will be just fine.

Editor’s Note
This interview further validates the fact that Punk won’t be back with World Wrestling Entertainment anytime soon. He’s been safe with his money over the years and probably has enough dough to live comfortably for the rest of his life. If he does return, it will be for his love of wrestling and nothing more.
