The first of two back-to-back matches at WWE “Night of Champions” Sunday didn’t go according to plan for Seth Rollins.

Less than one month after his defeat at “SummerSlam” in Brooklyn, John Cena has managed to regain his United States Championship, defeating Rollins at the pay-per-view in Houston.

This win ties Cena with Chris Benoit, Bret “The Hitman” Hart, Lex Luger, and Wahoo McDaniel for second-most United States title wins ever at five. “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair leads the way with six.

Before leaving, Cena dropped Rollins with an Attitude Adjustment outside of the ring as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion looked to escape.

Editor’s Note

Don’t get angry, fans. Remember how awesome the Open Challenge was on “Monday Night Raw” every week? There’s no need for Rollins to hold both major titles for an extended period of time. It’s pleasing to the eyes, but does little for WWE’s mid-card.
