No second chances for Emma. She’s been officially released by WWE, according to WWE.com:
WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Diva Emma as of today, July 2, 2014. WWE wishes Emma the best in her future endeavors.
Emma (real name: Tenille Dashwood) was arrested prior to “Monday Night Raw” on June 30 for larceny.
Per Doug McDonald of WrestlingRumors.net:
Hartford police charged Dashwood with sixth-degree larceny after she stole an item from a Wal-Mart that is extremely close to where “Monday Night Raw” was held. Police reported the incident at approximately 1:00 p.m. ET, and Dashwood was released at 2:13 p.m. According to F4Wonline.com, Dashwood boosted a case for an iPod device.
Reports state Dashwood appeared in community court Tuesday, July 1. Her lawyer, Hubert Santos, claims she was sentenced to community service. Santos also stated that Dashwood’s arrest was essentially a mistake. The Courant states that Santos’ explanation of the incident includes Dashwood using the self-checkout machine, but forgot to pay for the item she was accused of stealing.
She has already appeared in court, having been sentenced to one day of community service, per TMZ.com.
Emma made her debut on the main roster on Jan. 3, appearing in the crowd with a sign promoting her “EMMAlution.” She was invited into the ring on Feb. 3, defeating Summer Rae in a dance-off that was hosted by Santino.
She spent three years in NXT developmental (2011-14), engaging in a memorable feud with Paige over the NXT Women’s Championship.
Her last televised match was on the May 26 edition of “Raw” when she defeated Alicia Fox.
Editor’s Note
Emma dug her own grave with this one, but I feel as if the punishment doesn’t fit the crime. Other superstars on the roster have gotten away with much, much worse. This goes to show how inconsistent company policies really are. WWE wasn’t using Emma, so it made the decision to get rid of her a heck of a lot easier, though. It’s a damn shame.
