In what shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, Chris Jericho has revealed in an interview with the Tampa Bay Times that he doesn’t plan on working a full-time schedule for WWE ever again.
“No. I have so much other stuff going on that it would almost be a step backwards, performing-wise,” Jericho said.
“The weekend shows are amazing, and I am always glad to be a part of it. But I couldn’t do it as a full-time thing again. My career as a full-time wrestler is long gone, for about the past four or five years now, really. I’ve been really fortunate, from the band (Fozzy) to the podcast, and I’m out in Hollywood working, too, so the dream has kind of taken off.”
Y2J also mentioned that he prefers working Live Events because they’re less stressful and more interactive.
He said he doesn’t believe he’ll be working any live television in the future either.
His last match with the company on pay-per-view was at WWE “Night of Champions” in a losing effort to Randy Orton.
Editor’s Note
Shocker. If any of the “part-time” wrestlers were to ever come back and compete full-time, the likely candidate would have been Jericho. He’s made enough returns in the past to make one thing that he could do it. So much for that. No big deal, I suppose.
