A recent report by F4WOnline.com noted that TNA President Dixie Carter wanted Alberto El Patron—formally Alberto Del Rio in WWE—to appear for the company’s big debut on Destination America.

It looks like El Patron turned down quite a hefty sum to work for TNA Wrestling.

Per Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

“They (TNA) offered him $400,000 a year for minimal dates. It says more about the perception in the industry that TNA is a career killer.”

El Patron has since started working for Ring of Honor Wrestling, having debuted during their television tapings on Jan. 3.

He’s also an official member of the Lucha Underground roster. His television debut will be sometime in early February after appearing during their Jan. 17 tapings.

There’s no word yet on whether El Patron’s Lucha Underground deal will conflict with him being able to wrestle anywhere else.

Editor’s Note

If Dixie Carter wants to give me $400,000 a year to work for her, I’ll gladly take it.
