Rumors Mounting For AJ Styles’ WrestleMania Opponent

While Royal Rumble is the next big event for the WWE, and it is indeed a massive one, there is always one eye turned toward WrestleMania for the company. To some, it may be too early for WrestleMania rumors, but when there is a rumor this intriguing, it’s still worth speculating on. According to reports, AJ Styles has an opponent lined up for WrestleMania already…and it’s Samoa Joe.

According to PWInsider’s Mike Johnson, Samoa Joe will be squaring off with his former TNA colleague Styles at WrestleMania 33. Joe has been going back-and-forth with Shinsuke Nakamura for the NXT Title, but after losing to Nakamura in a cage match in Australia, the thought is Joe is on his way up to WWE soon, with a match with Styles in the works. According to rumors, Joe will make his surprise debut at Royal Rumble. Considering it was at the last Rumble that Styles made his debut, that would be fitting.

Obviously, Styles vs. Joe would be a matchup worth getting excited for, were it to actually happen. It is all speculation for now, and things could change. However, this is a match that would definitely make sense, so fingers crossed it actually comes to fruition.
