On Monday’s RAW, The Undertaker made an appearance to drop some big news: He’s entering the Royal Rumble. However, before that, we had to deal with Mick Foley searching for The Undertaker, because, you see, it was only a “rumor” the Dead Man would show up, and if he didn’t, Stephanie McMahon was going to be quite cross with Foley. It was all a bit silly, but it wasn’t the first time somebody went on a search for The Undertaker. The first time, though, it was somehow even sillier.
That’s probably because the first time it was Leslie Nielsen who went looking for The Undertaker. Yes, once upon a time, the legendary comedy actor was on a “search” for The Undertaker. You see, the Dead Man had lost to Yokozuna in a casket match at the 1994 Royal Rumble. He then proceeded to, well, basically ascend into the afterlife it seemed. The WWE was very different back in the day. Ted DiBiase ended up bringing in a fake Undertaker. However, meanwhile, the WWE produced a series of sketches wherein Nielsen would search for The Undertaker, hoping to find him in time for Summerslam. The pieces were ostensibly comedic, and Nielsen was a funny performer, but, well, it was all also a bit odd. Of course, The Undertaker would return at Summerslam to beat the fake Undertaker.

We’d like to show you video of Nielsen’s search for The Undertaker, but the YouTube videos of the Nielsen stuff has weird, sketchy ads and links in the description section. You can find them if you still would like, but caveat emptor.
