It had been previously reported that Vince McMahon has been considering bringing back the XFL, a football league that lasted for one season in 2001.

According to a new report from PWInsider, McMahon and VKM Ventures have also filed for a “UFL” trademark, but it is being presented with some complications. The “UFL” trademark has been given an initial refusal due to potential conflict with another “UFL” trademark that is in the process of being trademarked.

The “Urban Fitness League” filed for a “UFL” trademark in January 2017 for fitness and weightlifting purposes. Until that trademark is finalized, work on VKM Ventures’ application could be suspended unless McMahon can provide valid arguments that there will not be any conflicts.

The report also states that there won’t be there won’t be any movement on the recent “XFL” trademarks until around March 16th, if not sooner, due to the 3-month waiting period for new trademark applications.

We will continue to monitor these stories and provide updates as they become available to us.
