Bobby Roode Comments On The Popularity Of His ‘Glorious’ Entrance

Since making his debut in the WWE for the NXT brand, Bobby Roode has been one of the most electrifying names in the company. Starting his run as a snarky, pompous heel, Roode would cut promos letting crowds know that he is above them. Perhaps the one thing that showed this the most was his elaborate entrance that was, aptly-named, “glorious.”

His entrance would become so popular, former DIY members Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa would have a string of videos called Glorious Bombs, where they would catch Roode is unexpected moments while cuing up his music.

Upon debuting on the SmackDown Live roster following his NXT Championship loss against Drew McIntyre, Roode would become a babyface and feud with Dolph Ziggler. Roode’s popularity would lead him to recently become the United States Champion, winning a tournament for the vacant title.

In an interview with the La Crosse Tribune, Roode would comment on how the fans react to the entrance.

“It’s pretty amazing,” said Roode. “When I was breaking into the business in 1998, the music was huge. Stone Cold Steve Austin’s glass breaking, The Undertaker, D-Generation X, it’s part of what made those guys popular. It’s what the fans are reacting to. It’s part of the performance, from the curtain to the ring, it’s all part of it.”

Roode would add, “I’m really fortunate to have this song given to me, and create this ‘Glorious’ character. And I’m given the time each week to do (the entrance).”

There is no question that Roode’s entrance at WrestleMania will be a highlight of the evening.
