In WWE, Morrison was a one-time world champion, three-time Intercontinental Champion, and five-time tag team champion.
For some time in 2007, Morrison was the face of WWE’s ECW brand. He held the ECW Championship for about two months.
He would go on to the win the Intercontinental Championship on three different occasions. To this day, Morrison is the longest combined-reigning champion, with 541 days.
Also, he is known for his work in the tag team division.
Prior to his time in the ECW brand, Morrison (then Johnny Nitro) and Joey Mercury won the WWE Tag Team Championship on three occasions.
Morrison had a strong partnership with The Miz. Alongside one another, these two wrestlers won the World Tag Team Championship once, and the WWE Tag Team Championship once.
Despite never winning the WWE Championship, Morrison surely gets an A for effort, so to speak. He had several title shots, including a Falls Count Anywhere match against the Miz.
Toward the end of his career, Morrison had several crowd-thrilling moments.
First, at the 2011 Royal Rumble, Morrison performed a cat leap onto the barricade, followed by a precision jump back to the ring apron, thus avoiding elimination.
At the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in 2011, he climbed to the top of the chamber. And even more stunning, Morrison dropped to hit Sheamus with a crossbody.
John Morrison’s accomplishments are remarkable in themselves. And in addition, Morrison truly had determination, dedication, and effort.
