In 2001, Heyman became a commentator for the World Wrestling Federation, alongside his broadcast partner, Jim Ross. Heyman tried to recreate ECW to become part of the Alliance, but Heyman left WWF shortly after his stable’s demise at Survivor Series 2001.

Heyman later made his return to WWE, where he strengthened what is now his most notorious skill: managing wrestlers.

Brock Lesnar needed a manager who could help him win some championship gold. Sure enough, Heyman guided Lesnar to win the WWE Undisputed Championship. Heyan eventually turned on his client. However, Heyman’s success as a manager would be revived years later, once again with Brock Lesnar.

2003 sought more on-screen time for Heyman, but this time he fulfilled the role of SmackDown! General Manager. He held this position for less than a year, but he remained a key force for the brand, as he was its head writer and creative leader.

ECW had its own reunion pay-per-view, ECW One Night Stand 2005, for which Heyman was laboriously involved in the booking.

One year later, WWE revealed the rechristening of ECW, as a third WWE brand. Heyman was in charge of the brand, but he left WWE in December because of both professional and creative issues with Vince McMahon.

Fast forward six years, Heyman returned to WWE as Brock Lesnar’s legal advisor. From there, Heyman went on to manage CM Punk during legendary reign as WWE Champion.

There were then several twists and turns throughout Heyman’s time in WWE, ranging from managing RybAxel to almost being fired by Vince McMahon.

However, Heyman’s WWE career reached its prime when he led Brock Lesnar to beat The Undertaker, as well as when he managed Lesnar throughout his WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign.

Although his roles and titles varied, Paul Heyman still shaped top Superstars, as well as WWE itself.
