During the October 12 edition of “RAW,” boos rained upon Reigns and fans chanted “what” throughout most of his mic work. Similar reports have come from the October 15 edition of “Smackdown.” While Reigns has a long way to getting over with the fans, he may have some getting over to do backstage.
An article from Wrestling Inc. reports: “There was a negative backstage reaction at Monday’s WWE RAW to the lengthy promo that Roman Reigns cut in the ring. There was a feeling that Reigns’ should not have been given that much time for a promo.”
Reigns clearly has some mic work to do, but his in-ring performance seems to have no bearing on his standing with the fans. In the midst of this, talk of Reigns working the main event at Wrestlemania 32 and winning the World Heavyweight Championship has also fluttered around the inter-webs.
Editor’s Note: I feel the word “heat” is being tossed around too casually here. This seems to fall more under the “creative difference” category. As noted, this is all speculation at this point. Follow Bill Kline on Twitter @RealBillKline or on Facebook.
