With September in the rear view mirror, three-quarters of 2014 are up. For WWE, this means that it will have to compile data on its business earnings starting from July all the way through September. In 2014, there have been a lot more eyes on WWE’s quarterly earning reports, largely due to the WWE Network.
In its quarter one earnings report, WWE announced it obtained 667,000 subscribers to the WWE Network from the launch date of Feb. 24 to WrestleMania XXX, which occurred on April 6. In turn, this led to a noticeable decrease in the company’s stock. When it came time to report its Second Quarter earnings, things would not get much better for WWE. Within the report, it was revealed that WWE Network subscribers barely increased, and some subscribers were even able to get out of their six month commitment.
WWE’s Third Quarter earnings report will be released on Oct. 30, per a WWE press release:
“WWE will report Third Quarter 2014 business (July to September) and reveal the number of WWE Network subscribers as of September 30. The company will also release the official number of pay-per-view buys for Battleground, SummerSlam, and Night of Champions.
WWE Chairman & CEO, Vince McMahon, and the Company’s Chief Strategy & Financial Officer George Barrios, will host a conference call beginning at 11:00 a.m. ET to discuss the results.”
WrestlingRumors.net will have full coverage of the earnings report on Oct. 30.
Editor’s Note
I’m intrigued to see what the new WWE Network subscriber count is. While the WWE Network did go global, the United Kingdom, WWE’s second-largest market, didn’t receive it just yet.
