A report on Saturday, Jan. 10, from wrestling insider PWInsider brought to a light a potential deal between WWE and Tapout. Tapout, stylized “TapouT,” is a MMA-centric brand which releases a variety of apparel for mixed martial artists, including clothing, training gear, accessories, and much more.
Through the previous 24 hours, beginning on Saturday afternoon, PWInsider received word that WWE is expected to announce a licensing deal with Tapout sometime in the near future. The website would end up asking WWE about its gatherings.
In response to the rumor, WWE issued the website the following statement:
“WWE is exploring several partnership opportunities, however we have nothing official to announce at this time.”
The Tapout clothing line was founded in 1997 by the late Charles Lewis, Jr. By 2007, the company had already generated a revenue of 22.5 million dollars. In turn, it became even more involved with MMA, specifically UFC. It not only provided apparel, but also had roles in reality series and video games surrounding MMA and UFC. In July of 2009, shortly after his death, Charles Lewis, Jr. became the first, and to date, only non-fighter in the UFC Hall of Fame.

Interesting move that could produce a lot of awesome and new WWE merchandise and apparel.
