WWE hit a bump in the Road to WrestleMania in late February, as the company has come under fire for the way it treats its women performers, branded as WWE Divas. Tension first started to rise following yet another successful “NXT Takeover” event, in which four women wrestlers put on a solid, lengthy match in the co-main event. Coming out of the show, some main roster WWE Divas were critical of the NXT girls receiving more prominent, lengthy storylines and matches than them.
Things got more serious for WWE following the Feb. 23 showing of “Monday Night Raw.” In a three hour show, there was just one Divas match on the card, and it received under a minute of time. The match saw The Bella Twins put away Emma and Paige in tag team action in the blink of an eye.
Coming out of “Raw,” the WWE Universe was not shy in voicing its opinion on the role of Divas in WWE. Throughout the show, as well as after, the hashtag #GiveDivasAChance trended worldwide. Additionally, the following night, WWE Diva AJ Lee called out Stephanie McMahon and WWE for not giving its women proper pay and recognition.
A couple hours after AJ Lee’s remarks, the Twitter account of Vince McMahon, @VinceMcMahon, responded to the situation, using the hashtag #GivesDivasAChance. He tweeted the following:

Editor’s Note
So, if WWE truly changes its ways, how long does it last? A week? Or will they actually smarten up and put more emphasis on the division? I truly hope so, but have doubts. Above all, WWE Divas should start getting equal pay, if AJ Lee’s remarks are true.
