Video: Sting Talks Comic-Con Appearance, Future in WWE, and More

As we previously reported, on Thursday, July 24, Sting made his first appearance at a WWE event. “The Icon” was part of a WWE and Mattel panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, which featured other WWE talents such as Hulk Hogan, Daniel Bryan, and Paul Heyman. Michael Cole was on hand to announce the “Stinger” to the crowd, who chanted his name. At the panel, a new Sting action figure made by Mattel was announced.

Following his appearance, Sting spoke with entertainment website IGN.

Sting was asked what is was like to be out there:

“Well, it’s a momentous occasion. That’s for sure. I mean it’s the very first public appearance with WWE. There’s so many firsts: WWE first appearance, action figure, video game, WWE fans, Comic-Con. All a first for me. So, it was huge.

Additionally, Sting was inquired about his future for WWE:

“Well, aside from video games and action figures and t-shirts and things like that, let’s just say that I’m open for anything. I’ve been very public about the fact that I would love to get in the ring at least one more time. And, uh, I’ve named my opponent on-and-off over the years. It doesn’t matter, though. One more. One more.”

Finally, Sting talked about the impact Hulk Hogan has had on him getting involved in WWE:

“Well, yeah, he definitely did in the earlier days, for sure. He called me a few months back, and he was planting a few seeds for sure.”

Sting has spoken with many media outlets since his promo for “WWE 2K15” aired on “Monday Night Raw. In the interview with IGN, he once again hinted at a match with The Undertaker, but did not mention him by name. It is unknown if Sting is prepping for a match in WWE, something that Triple H has recently teased.
