As March kicked off, WWE and its head trainer for developmental NXT, Bill DeMott, came under fire for a plethora of allegations made against him. WWE would go as far to announce that its past investigation into allegations about DeMott yielded no substantial evidence to release him. However, a couple days later on Friday, March 6, DeMott ended up announcing his resignation as head trainer of NXT.
DeMott’s resignation led to a great deal of relief among the former NXT developmental talents who had campaigned against his alleged unprofessional conduct. Still, some within the wrestling industry questioned if DeMott would still be working in WWE in some capacity, perhaps an office job.
Following DeMott’s resignation, PWInsider published an update on the situation, specifically regarding DeMott’s future in WWE. The website reported that any rumors or speculation that DeMott retained an office job within WWE are false. Instead, DeMott “resigned completely” from WWE, as a source in WWE informed the wrestling insider.
Additionally, The Washington Post picked up on the story, and received a brief statement from WWE. The statement simply read, “We accept Bill DeMott’s resignation.” The company chose not to comment any further on the allegations made against DeMott.
Editor’s Note
Whether or not DeMott did truly “resign” from WWE and was not forced out, it is best for him to no longer be associated with the company.
