At the “Battleground” pay-per-view on Sunday, July 20, 20 WWE Superstars will be competing in a battle royal to determine the new Intercontinental Champion. On “Monday Night Raw,” it was noted that the former champion, Bad News Barrett, will be on hand to crown the new champion.
In a recent update on the WWE.com story for the battle royal, two WWE Superstars have been removed from the match: Damien Sandow and Adam Rose. Damien Sandow was one of the first people to announce himself as an entrant in the battle royal. Rose, on the other hand, was advertised for the match during the July 14 showing of “Monday Night Raw.”
While there is no confirmation from WWE at the moment, many fans believe that their removal from the battle royal signifies a singles match between the two at “Battleground.” The two clashed at “Money in the Bank,” and also went at it during “Raw” in a Sonic advertisement.
As of Wednesday, July 16, the 20 participants for the battle royal goes as follows:
Dolph Ziggler
Cesaro
Rob Van Dam
Kofi Kingston
Ryback
Curtis Axel
The Great Khali
Big E
Alberto Del Rio
Bo Dallas
Fandango
Sheamus
Sin Cara
Zack Ryder
The Miz
Diego
R-Truth
Xavier Woods
Heath Slater
Titus O’Neil

The only bright spot in another Rose vs. Sandow match is whoever Sandow portrays during the match.
