WWE.com recently published the latest sit-down interview between Michael Cole and WWE COO Triple H. The feature is a staple of Wednesday content for the website. As always, the two discussed the hottest topics in regards to the current WWE product.
Regarding Chris Jericho’s return to WWE, Triple H said that we can’t forget that The Miz also made an “epic’ return to WWE. Shifting to Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family’s attack on Jericho, “HHH” stated that only Bray Wyatt knows the motives for the attack.
“The King of Kings” also hit briefly on Paige losing her Divas Championship to AJ Lee. He said how things played out was definitely interesting. He also noted that with Paige being from NXT, the whole ordeal is far from over.
Michael Cole also grilled Triple H on why he would give Roman Reigns a title shot at “Battleground.” Reigns, Randy Orton and Kane will challenge for John Cena’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship at the event.
Triple H explained his actions, saying it’s what the fans want, and in some ways, Reigns’ addition is best for business. Continuing, he hit on how both Cena and Reigns are at the top, which can be a collision course. WWE’s COO reiterated his words from “Raw,” saying that staring across the ring at three opponents chomping at the bit for the title, is the “hard way.”
The two also discussed Seth Rollins’ attempt to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase at the end of “Raw.” Triple H would bring up “Plan B,” discussing its unpredictability. The Authority’s “Plan B” is rumored to be the backing of Brock Lesnar upon his return to WWE TV at the end of July. Lesnar is slated to be the next opponent for Cena and his WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and they are set to face each other on Aug. 17 at “SummerSlam.”
