On Tuesday, Nov. 18, WWE taped its final programming heading into the 2014 “Survivor Series” pay-per-view. In Knoxville, Tennessee, at the Thompson-Boling Arena, WWE taped the Nov. 21 showing of “Smackdown.”
Below are the spoilers for the Nov. 21 episode of “Smackdown:”
The show was kickstarted by none other than Triple H, who may very well be on his final edition of WWE programming as one of the on-screen authoritative figures in the company. He cut a promo on the “Survivor Series” main event, pitting Team Authority against Team Cena.
1) Rusev (w/ Lana) def. Dolph Ziggler- Rusev picked up the win in a good back-and-forth match, in which the crowd was invested in.
Another New Day vignette, featuring Big E, Xavier Woods, and Kofi Kingston aired.
2) Los Matadores (w/ El Torito) def. The Miz and Damien Mizdow- Los Matadores obtained the victory, as Miz and Mizdow continued to tease that they are at ends.
Next, Dean Ambrose’s “Survival Kit” segment aired. Ambrose reminisced about how he received brass knuckles from his mother because he was attacked and jumped as a kid. Bray Wyatt would interrupt his “Survivor Series” foe, appearing on the titantron in order to cut a promo.
3) AJ Lee def. Brie Bella- In retaliation for what transpired on “Monday Night Raw,” AJ Lee dressed as Nikki Bella for the match.
4) Luke Harper def. Cesaro- Harper made quick work of Cesaro, using a “Torture Rack” to put down the “King of Swing.” Erick Rowan would then appear, still using the same theme song as his former tag team partner. The two had a stare down, but would not come to blows.
All five members of Team Cena came out to cut a retaliatory promo against Triple H about the “Survivor Series” main event. Triple H would take the time to make a huge announcement regarding the match, adding another major stipulation to the bout. If Team Cena (John Cena, Ryback, Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, and Erick Rowan) loses, then all five stars will be “fired” from WWE.
5) Ryback and Big Show def. Seth Rollins and Kane via disqualification- Early on, “The Big Guy” obtained a huge amount of momentum. However, Triple H came out with the rest of Team Authority, ordering them to attack. Steel chair in hand, Triple H and his team attacked all of Team Cena. Triple H’s main target is Ryback, who “HHH” wants all to himself. To close “Smackdown,” Triple H hit Ryback with a “Pedigree.”
