As we previously reported, TNA President Dixie Carter recently teased the signing of Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards, The American Wolves.  After WWE passed on the duo, reportedly due to Triple H’s opinion on their NXT debut match, the two quickly became hot commodities on the free agent market in professional wrestling.

In an update to the situation, PWInsider is reporting that Edwards and Richards are backstage with TNA for its TNA Genesis special, which begins today, Thursday Jan. 16. During the first part of the two-part special, the two are expected to make their debut in TNA.

Edwards and Richards made their names famous in Ring of Honor, where the two achieved a great deal of success. Edwards became Ring of Honor’s first Triple Crown Champion after he won the ROH World Championship, which he would drop to Richards. The two also held the ROH World Tag Team Championship twice in their five year career in the promotion.

The following is the current match card scheduled for TNA Genesis:

Steel Cage Match

Kurt Angle vs. Bobby Roode

Sting vs. Ethan Carter III

Ladder match for Gunner’s World Title Feast or Fired Briefcase

Gunner vs. James Storm

TNA Women’s Knockout Championship match

Gail Kim (c) (with Lei’D Tapa) vs. Madison Rayne
