According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the finish for the Brock Lesnar vs. CM Punk match was changed in the middle of the week leading up to SummerSlam. They are reporting that the finish may have been changed to Lesnar winning cleanly because The Undertaker has reportedly agreed to work WrestleMania with “The Beast Incarnate.” It should be noted that plans change and with WrestleMania many months away, nothing is set in stone.

WWE wanted Lesnar to pick up the victory because a match with Undertaker would likely be one of the two or three main events of WrestleMania XXX. Because of that, WWE wanted Lesnar looking strong going into WrestleMania season instead of having a 2-3 record since his return to WWE if he had lost to “The Best in the World,” CM Punk.
