On the August 21 edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, many topics were discussed including WWE possibly dropping the “Hell in a Cell” pay-per-view in 2014. Another topic that was discussed on the show was the possibility that WWE may move the location of SummerSlam in 2014. For the past five years, SummerSlam has taken place from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The new location that was discussed on the show was Madison Square Garden. “The Garden” was home to WWE’s first ever SummerSlam pay-per-view in 1988. In addition to holding WWE’s first SummerSlam, Madison Square Garden was also the home to the first ever WrestleMania event in 1985.
