As we recently reported, WWE has already been discussing possible reunions for The Shield. The first reunion was discussed for late 2015 or early 2016. If such a reunion found success, many more would occur down the road, similar to the many reunions of D-Generation X.
Another report by F4WOnline has revealed that WWE has plans for Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns to work together at the 2015 “Royal Rumble” pay-per-view. The finish of the traditional Royal Rumble match would see Reigns, Ambrose, and Rollins be the final three competitors.
In the end, Reigns would come out on top, meaning he would challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31. A recent report notes that Reigns may very well square off against Brock Lesnar at the event.
The report does not state who would be champion leading up to the “Showcase of Shows.” Some believe that Brock Lesnar will head to WrestleMania 31 as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. In all likelihood, Lesnar will challenge John Cena for the title at “SummerSlam, acting as The Authority’s Plan B,” Afterwards, at the “Night of Champions” event, Lesnar will be featured in a main event. If he defeats Cena at “SummerSlam,” Lesnar would be making his first title defense at the event. With his limited schedule, many don’t see how WWE would let Lesnar hold the title past “Night of Champions.”
Editor’s Note
With Reigns as the front-runner to win the Royal Rumble match, this would be a tremendous way to end the bout. It would certainly blow last year’s match out of the water.
