As we previously reported on Sunday, Aug. 17, Bully Ray reportedly departed from TNA. Bully Ray had been with the company for more than three years, achieving main event status as both a babyface and heel. The contract of Bully Ray was reportedly close to expiring or already may have, leading to the man best known as Bubba Dudley in WWE and ECW informing the TNA locker room of his departure.
PWInsider has provided an update on the matter, looking at what it means for TNA down the road. For one, Bully Ray’s tag team partner in Team 3D, Devon, is reportedly still under contract. Devon’s deal is set to run through this fall.
In regards to what will happen to the storylines that Team 3D is currently involved in on TNA programming, nothing is known for now.
Team 3D is also set to be inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame during the “Bound for Glory” festivities on the weekend of Oct. 12. According to PWInsider, the induction will likely still happen. Team 3D will join Sting and Kurt Angle as the only members of the TNA Hall of Fame.
Editor’s Note
TNA is definitely in a precarious position, as its storylines are already taped well into the future. With Sting already in WWE, and Kurt Angle wanting to go there, the TNA Hall of Fame remains a joke.
